(The One With The Moments of Perfection)
If there was ever a song that came up at the right moment to depict exactly how I was feeling at this time… as I am lying on the beach of Koh Phangan, catching the morning sun with my freshly made coffee and a pack of my favorite Thai peanuts next to me, loving life… it would be Jack Johnson’s, Upside Down, which was what the cute little tiki bar in front of me happened to play, as if it were on purpose:
Who’s to say what’s impossible…
And as my mind begins to spread its wings, there’s no stopping curiosity.
I don’t want this feeling to go away
Please don’t go away.
Is this how it’s suposed to be?
I feel so damn lucky.
These moments of perfection just kept coming from sun up to sun down while spending the whole day on the beach, taking little naps on the nicely hung hammock and taking in the entire scenery. I’m not telling this to make anyone jealous but throughout my time here I had quite a few “pinch-me-is-this-even-real?” moments. And I sure as hell didn’t want it to go away.
I am grateful to life because I am making this journey. ~Paulo Coelho
It was all too beautiful for words, too powerful of a moment to capture a picture (well the second night I had to try). I walked out into the water, far out from the shore and it was still magically shallow. I sat down feeling so small in this vast ocean with nothing around me but water as I was watching the sky light up with the pink, orange and purple… only the way a proper sunset would allow, as it began to set behind an island mountain. I think I will always remember the feeling of calm and peace seeing nature at it’s finest. These are the things in life that I am most thankful for, moments like this that seem so unreal and the chance that I am lucky enough to be here to experience it.
All I want is to be here in the present, because I don’t know if I will ever come back. I take several deep breaths trying to soak up the beauty of it all.
~Paulo Coelho
